Possible relationship?

Okay, so more than a year ago I told a friend of mine that I have a crush on him. He seemed shocked (his sister told me that he's never had a girlfriend before). That works for me because I've never had a boyfriend. So anyway, he said that he would think about us dating and pray about it too. A week later he tells me that he wants to concentrate on college, which, is logical, but that down the line he wants to date. Okay, so it's been a year and a half and I have never brought it up...I'm still in college, he's still in college...should I find a way to ease into this question to ask him about it? Or should I still leave it alone....Thanks... If it helps, we are both 22.
