My friend & I got in 2 an argument he got mad at me 4 no reason! what Shuld I do?

So me and my bestfriend(Edward) we are really close he has always been very sweet kind and nice too me! I never seen him mad! Well me & Edward and my other friend Jessica were at the library doing a research project together & Edward was infront of us using �his computer when Edwards friend comes and sits nxt to him they start talking. me an Jessica wer on our own conversation.. Talking about music and laughing about random stuff. Edward was on his own conversation with the girl when he was like hey you guys start doing ur work! stop talking i thought he was Jk but it kindah made me mad wen he said that wen he wasn't doing his own! I was like ur the one talking over there 2! my friend Jessica and I didn't talk to him at all . But Jessica asked him a question about the work. After jessica told him we had to leave bak to klass we left and wen he catches up to us he was furious he was extremly angry at us we never had seen him so mad he treated us like dirt he yelld at us told us we didn't have respect he said we were rude disrespectful people!! He was being extremely mean and we didnt no why! After I couldn't help myself I started to cry really bad I ran out of klas soon the whole klas new & I �felt embarrassed. One of the girls in klass asked him if we broke up I think he said yes idk wy he said that if we are not going out!! people at skewl usually think we r dating cuz we r so close but we r not dating! after I found out he told his friends that he was mad because I �was supposedly jealous that he was talking 2 that girl I was really sad & mad becus that wasn't true at all ! He tried 2 make me look bad i wasnt jealouse and i didnt talk to him and idk why he said that my friend thought that he said that cuz he wanted me 2 be jealous but since I wasn't he got mad! also he made up three stories he told sum he was mad becus I was being disrespectful to the girl he liked cuz I kept interrupting wen I wasn't! �And cuz I was supposedly jealous wtf I wasn't! � � Then he told us he was mad cuz Jessica and I interrupted he blamed us both then wen he txt me he said I think we can try rebelling r friendship but I doubt everything will b the same wtf !' what can I do i dnt want out friendship too change we didn't do nuthing do u think we did something bad what can I do?
