MARRIAGE: AIR FORCE MIL to MIL EN ROUTE!?

My fiance and I are getting married this august when I (bride) come home for some leave en route (from Ramstein Germany to my next assignment F.E. Warren, WY). What is the best way to go about this. My mpf/assignments office has been of little to no help at all and I keep getting the run around from them. What are our BEST options/steps we need to take to make sure we get stationed together as fast as possible? I've heard of an AF Form 1048 Intention to marry that gets submitted to AFPC, is it too late for that since my assignment (not orders) has already dropped? Also, I heard that if we go to the closest military installation after we get married and submit a joint spouse assignment request as soon as possible to that closest base that we I could possibly be issued instruction for assignment change. HELP? And REAL help would be greatly appreciated. No lectures on tech school love (which it's not) shot gun weddings (which it's not) and I don't want to hear about your failed marriages either :) No offense, but serious answers only.
